Baltimore Firefighters, EMS Rescue Fallen Tank Worker
Advanced Tactical Rescue Assignment Performed

Story/Photos by Mark Lundin

Baltimore Co, MD (MFN) -- An advanced tactical rescue assignment was dispatched for a subject that fell into a concrete tank at the Back River Waste Water Treatment Plant.

While in route, dispatch informed responding units that they received another call indicating the subject was standing and outside the tank.

The rescue was cancelled except an engine, medic and EMS officer.

Engine 15 arrived to find the subject still lying at the bottom of the tank, and re-requested the entire rescue assignment.

The worker was reportedly on a ladder when it slipped out, causing him to fall 20 feet to the concrete floor.

After packaging the patient, Truck 15 was used to lift him out of the tank.

Trooper 6 was waiting nearby for the transport to Shock Trauma.
