Russellville, AR Firefighters Battle Structure Fire

Story/Photos by RICHARD SETIAN, PIO Russellville Fire Department

At 1218 hours, Tuesday August 13th, Russellville (Arkansas) firefighters responded to a structure fire on 124 Hwy. Upon arrival (1222 hours) first arriving Engine Three reported a fully involved outbuilding, threatening a home. Battalion One arrived and assumed command as Engine One, Rescue One and Squad One, provided support.

First priority was exposure protection. Firefighters quickly cooled the exposure then extinguished the fire. Battalion One reported the situation under control at 1229 hours. The outbuilding was a total loss but the home suffered very little damage. Firefighters remained onscene for overhaul and returned to service at 1314 hours.

The cause of the fire was attributed to faulty electrical wiring. There were no firefighters or civilians injured.
