East Ridge, Tennessee Firefighters Stomp Utility Fire

Story/Photos by JOHN SENTELL

On Thursday, August 8, 2002, the East Ridge Fire Department responded with two engine companies, one ladder company, and two squad companies under the command of Deputy Chief Gann to 1522 Tombras Ave. at approximately 1:20 p.m., on a utility building that was fully engulfed with fire.

The homeowner told fire investigators that they had been gone only about ten minutes before they were notified that her building was on fire.

The firefighters quickly put out the fire before it had a chance to spread to the homeowner's house and a neighbor's garage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation with damages estimated to be around $3,000.
