Massachusetts Firefighters Battle Bakery Fire

Story & Photos by JOSEPH CORMIER

At 1513 hours, the fire alarm office received a call for smoke at 19 Calvin Road.

The Sweet Endings Bakery Warehouse is a 1 story brick commercial structure.

Engine 2 and Ladder 2 called in that there was heavy smoke showing and they had a working fire.

Chief 2 ordered a Second Alarm.

Things were getting worse. Chief Paul McAfery Ordered a Third Alarm, and for all to evacuate the building.

Fire was coming through the roof. The Deputy Chief ordered the Fourth Alarm.

All Fourth Alarm companies were to lay large diameter hose to feed the companies assisting at the fire.

This fire brought many mutual aid companies from Metro-Fire District 13.

The job went well into the night.
