Maryland Accident with Entrapment

Story & Photos by KENTLAND VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

An excited citizen pulled on the front ramp advising that there was an accident at Landover Road and Matthew Henson Avenue.

Rescue Engine 333 and Chief 33 responded, arriving on the scene a small passenger car had struck a bus and was driven into a fence of a private residence.

Rescue Engine 333 started patient care along with stabilization. The second engine from 33 was called and they placed a protective line in service along with extra manpower for the extrication.

The extrication took about 15 minutes, with the roof removed and two doors along with pushing the dash. The patient was transported to Prince George's General Hospital by Medic 46 as a priority one trauma.
