Inside Sales Representative (Fire Service)

The Commercial Property division of ISO is launching an innovative new data and analytics service to help fire departments achieve their mission associated with reducing fire injury and fatality rates, decreasing property damage, and improving community attractiveness.  It includes detailed analyses and custom expert commentary using peer comparisons to provide actionable information.  The peer group creation is used to create over 25 analyses from 7 sources of data designed to help grant applications, prioritize pre-plans, assess performance, and identify key competencies.  This role will have responsibility for product sales and account management.  The market for this product does not currently exist, therefore representing a unique and exciting opportunity to help build a new business and market.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated with fire service and sales experience, along with comfort working in an entrepreneurial unstructured environment.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Hunt for new business, leveraging inbound and outbound marketing leads including warm leads, general inquiries, and cold calls
  • Consultative selling to fire departments that may have an existing relationship with ISO that cannot be compromised
  • Maintain pipeline and strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets
  • Seamlessly hand-off standard and custom purchases to product operations
  • Manage accounts post purchase to ensure high customer satisfaction and continued product usage
  • Provide collaborative feedback for existing product enhancement and new product creation

Requirements:

  • 5 – 7 years of fire service experience.  Fire contacts are a plus.
  • Experience working with fire department chiefs representing jurisdictions of varied types and sizes
  • 3 - 5 years successful sales and account management experience, preferably selling to the public sector
  • Outstanding listening skills and ability to adapt and develop relationships with the entire range of sophistications present in the fire service
  • Ability to ask needs-based questions to determine appropriate product fit and potential up-sell opportunities
  • Self motivated with the desire and ability to exceed expectations in an unstructured environment
  • Inherent team player that can internalize and contribute to the broader business strategy
  • General knowledge of data and analytics
