  • Three Idaho FFs Injured by Fireworks

    Three Idaho firefighters were injured Saturday after a fireworks display exploded while being set up on a golf course.The most seriously injured Mountain Home firefighter suffered burns to his upper body when a shell detonated in his hand, according to the Mountain Home News.There was no word on his condition.The incident occurred as one of the firefighters prepared to place one of the firework shells in a launch tube on the northeast side of the golf course, police told the newspaper.

  • Idaho Firefighter Dies Working on Station

    An Idaho assistant chief died Feb. 8 while working on the department’s new station.John Coyle, 63, suffered an apparent heart attack, according to the USFA.Coyle was a volunteer with West Pend Oreille Fire District in Priest River, Idaho.Donations in his honor for the new station may be made to West Pend Oreille Fire District, PO Box 1267, 1104 Ninth ST, Priest River, ID 83856.

  • Idaho Truck Crashes After Tiller Left Behind

    A Boise Tiller truck leaving the station collided with a pickup truck after leaving the rear the rear driver behind, according to KIVI-TV. The ladder truck had just left Fire Station 5 to respond to a call when the tail end of the truck swung and hit the driver's side of a Toyota Tacoma. The preliminary investigation shows the truck left the station with three crew members in the front cab but without the fourth crew member in the tiller position, the news report said.
