Firefighter Frank Wood, 54, of the Flourtown, Pennsylvania Fire Department suffered an apparant fatal heart attack after making a rescue at the scene of an all-hands nursing home fire.

Wood was entering the building after rescuing an unconscious woman when he collapsed. He was rushed to Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia where was later pronounced dead.

Wood was a police officer for Springfield Township in Montgomery County, PA, and a member of the Philadelphia Second Alarmers. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

The funeral will be held in St. Genevieve's Church at 1301 Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown, PA on Wednesday, August 18. The viewing is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the funeral will follow immediately. Burial will take place at George Washington Park on Stenton Ave in White Marsh Township.
