Second Indiana Firefighter Dies From October Crash Injuries

A second Scipio, Ind. firefighter has succumbed to injuries from a fire truck accident in October.

Brian Burnett had been in critical condition since the Oct. 28 accident. He died from complications early Saturday morning at a Chicago hospital.

Burnett and Capt. Robert Ulrich, 57, were responding to a grass fire when Burnett lost control of the water tanker on a sharp turn, causing it to overturn several times.

Ulrich died from his injuries a few days after the crash.

Visitation for the two-year veteran will be Tuesday, January 25, from 2 P.M. till 4 P.M. and from 6 P.M. till 9 P.M. at the Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington Street, in Michigan City.

An Indiana Volunteer Firemans Association Memorial Service will be held at 8 P.M. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 26 at the Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington Street, in Michigan City at 1:00 P.M.
