A Texas Forest Service member critically burned in an ATV accident in March succumbed to his injuries on Apr. 7.

Lamar Y’Barbo, a 9-year veteran, was critically burned on Mar. 13 while performing a "prescribed burn."

The All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) he was riding in overturned, spilling gasoline which was ignited by the drip torch attached to the rear of the vehicle.

Memorial information will be posted as it becomes available.

Mich. Firefighter Found Dead After Release from Hospital

A 38-year-old Michigan firefighter was found dead by his wife on Apr. 8, about a day after being released from a hospital for injuries sustained during overhail operations earlier in the week.

David Maisano was injured on Tuesday, Apr. 4 while placing a ladder back into position on a pumper, according to Chief Ron Bruner of the Tritown Fire Department. Maisano reportedly fell of the pumper and injured his lower back and broke his right wrist. He was hospitalized for several days until being released on Friday, Apr. 7. He was found dead by his wife the next morning.

Results from an autopsy were pending. Formal ruling as a line of duty death would be based on the results of those tests and further investigation, officials said.

The Tritown Fire Department in Mio has about 17 volunteer members and serves an area of just over 300 square miles.
