Rail Travel
- The Long Island Railroad's Web site is http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/lirr/index.html.
The LIRR may be caught at Penn Station if coming to New York via Amtrak or other rail
service.
- If you have a party of 30 or more people and travel from the same location,
you can receive up to a 60% discount per ticket from the Long Island Rail Road. Although you all must
depart from the same station, you can return at any time and you do not
have to be with your group. The price of the fare will depend on which
station your travel departs from.
If your department plans on travelling
on a free Amtrak train, please help us to provide you
with the best service by emailing us at
webteam@firehouse.com
and giving us your estimated time of departure, your
city of departure, and how many of you are travelling, so Amtrak will have a
general idea on numbers. Thank you.
