A Northern Wayne Fire Company firefighter from station 3 in Lakewood, PA
died Monday night at a structure fire.
The details of the incident are still being put together, but Glen Gunuskey,
Director of the Wayne County Emergency Management Department said the fire
call came in to dispatch at 9:10 p.m. Edmund Malinski, 39, was pulled from
the structure at about 11 p.m., transported to Wayne County Memorial
Hospital and pronounced dead at about 11:30 p.m.
The cause of death was not yet determined although Gunuskey said it did not
appear to be trauma related. Malinski is survived by his wife and a daughter
from a previous marriage. The Department is in northeast Pennsylvania near
the New York State border.
