Internation Association of Firefighters News Release

Aug. 6, 2002 -- A number of hotels in New York City have extended reduced rates to accommodate fire fighters and paramedics attending the New York Fire Fighters Memorial Service on Oct. 12.

The International is currently working out details of the memorial service with FDNY and the City of New York and will post more information on the IAFF web site as soon as it is available. Fire fighters should be prepared to assemble at the designated muster site (which is to be announced) no later than 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 12.

Below is the list of New York hotels that are providing discounted accommodation and other resources in the city to IAFF members attending the memorial. Just mention “IAFF” to receive special rates at these New York hotels and present your IAFF membership card or fire department ID upon check-in to guarantee the rates below.

Discounted rooms are available on first come-first serve basis. All rates quoted were valid at the time the contact was established by the IAFF. The IAFF is not able to guarantee the rates or contact the hotel on behalf of an individual or an affiliate. It is recommended that you contact the hotel immediately in order to confirm lodging. It is also recommended that you confirm your room rate for all nights you are booking, since the hotels commonly have different rates throughout the week. Room rates are quoted exclusive of applicable state and local taxes (which are currently 13.25% and a $2.00 per night city Tax)
