LA Firefighter Dies after Being Found Unresponsive in Station

A Belle Chasse firefighter died after colleagues found him unresponsive in the station

Allen Tanner Headley, 31, was found unresponsive in the fire station day room around 7 p.m. on March 16.

Firefighters with Plaquemines Parish Fire District # 2 began treating Headley immediately and rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

Headley, a firefighter-operator, served with the department for seven years.

The cause of death has not been determined. 

He leaves behind his wife, Lauren Plaisance Headley.

Memorial Visitation will be held at the Plaquemines Parish Fire Department, 104 New Orleans St., Belle Chasse, LA on March 23, 12 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m.
