Detroit Chief 6 required extra companies to battle a fire involving a two-flat apartment building. Firefighters had to stretch three lines to protect dwellings across the street from the fully involved building from intense radiant heat. The fire, which occured on Devil's Night, Oct. 30, 1997, (now renamed by the city to Angel's Night), kept firefighters on the city's lower east side busy.
