West Albany, NY, Fire Lieutenant Peter Murrey prepares to exit the roof after venting at a two-story apartment complex in Colonie. Seven area departments responded to the July 25, 1998, fire, which burned most of the roof before being controlled. Half of the 16-unit building sustained damage, leaving 30 people homeless after the early-afternoon blaze.
