Several elevated master streams operate at a multiple alarm fire in Milton, MA, on Nov. 5, 1999. The fire destroyed the H.P. Hood Inc. cold-storage company.
The 50,000-square-foot structure housed food, including 1 million gallons of ice cream and 10,000 frozen turkeys.
The fire burned for a day and required the response of companies from all around the Boston metropolitan area.
A Boston fireboat responded to the rear on the Neponset River of the structure and operated in areas hard to reach by land units.
