During the early-morning hours of Nov. 25, 2001, a first alarm was transmitted for a dwelling fire in the South Jamaica, Queens, section of New York City. First-due Engine Company 303 stretches the initial line as firefighters found a heavy fire condition on the first floor of a two-story frame dwelling. An additional engine and truck were special called to control this all-hands fire.

Dedication

This month's Firehouse® is dedicated to Captain Ritchie Eutsler, 30, of the Republic, MO, Fire Department; and Firefighter Willard Christoffer, 54, of the Western Springs, IL, Fire Department, who died in the line of duty, May 2001; and to Firefighter Travis Brown, 30, of the Dearborn, MO, Area Fire Protection District; Captain Carl Cook, 55, of the Birmingham, AL, Fire and Rescue Service; and Firefighter Jeremy Chandler, 27, of Grant County, WA, Fire District 5, who died in the line of duty June, 2001.
