Detroit firefighters remove several children onto Ladder 28's aerial ladder during a four-alarm fire involving two apartments on the eighth floor of a 12-story high-rise dwelling. Three people were killed and three others injured during the late-morning fire, which occurred on April 1, 2000.

This month's Firehouse® is dedicated to Firefighter/Paramedic Ricky L. Davis, 33, of Center Point, AL, Fire and Rescue, Second Assistant Chief Arnold Blankenship III, 27, of Greenwood, DE, Volunteer Fire Department Company 1; Smokejumper David J. Liston, 28, of the Bureau of Land Management/Alaska Fire Service; and Firefighter Michael Baughn, 46, of the Washington Fire Department, Washington Courthouse, OH, all of whom died in the line of duty, April 2000.
