Baltimore firefighters operating 13 engines and six trucks needed about one hour to control a four-alarm fire that involved a row of seven dwellings. Six of the dwellings were vacant. The fire occurred on April 5, 2000.

This month's Firehouse® is dedicated to Firefighter Robert Buhler, 62, of the Delmont, SD, Volunteer Fire Department; Firefighter/Engineer David Clements Sharp II, 31, of the City of Fayetteville, NC, Fire Department; Administrative District Chief Kevin F. Steren-chuk, 48, of the Cedar Rapids, IA, Fire Department; and Chief Mike Queen, 30, of the Rabun County, GA, Fire Department, who died in the line of duty, March 2000.
