Colo. Firefighters Discover Body at Wildfire

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Firefighters investigating a wildfire on a dirt road in the middle of night found a homicide. Colorado Springs firefighters were called to the Captain Jack’s trailhead near Lower Gold Camp Road at 2:13 a.m. on Wednesday. When firefighters arrived, they found human remains on fire. Due to the fire, the victim's gender and identity cannot be established at this time, officials said. The Colorado Springs Homicide Unit is investigating.

Firefighters investigating a wildfire on a dirt road in the middle of night found a homicide.

Colorado Springs firefighters were called to the Captain Jack’s trailhead near Lower Gold Camp Road at 2:13 a.m. on Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived, they found human remains on fire.

Due to the fire, the victim's gender and identity cannot be established at this time, officials said.

The Colorado Springs Homicide Unit is investigating.
