Firefighters responded to an arson fire in North Las Vegas this weekend, and fire officials believe it was intended to harm them, according to KTNV.

Crews responded to the fire in the 3400 block of Strawberry Roan Road on Saturday at approximately 4 p.m. to find the second floor fully involved with heavy smoke showing from outside the structure.

Seven units and close to 30 firefighters from North Las Vegas and Las Vegas Fire worked to control the flames within 15 minutes.

North Las Vegas Capt. Cedric Williams wouldn't go into detail on why they believe the blaze was set to harm crews.

"This career field is inherently dangerous and made the more when we have persons that try to intentionally injure firefighters," he told the news station.

The damages from the fire were estimated at approximately $100,000.
