Cleveland to Integrate Fire Department, EMS

Cleveland Chief Paul Stubbs announced his retirement Tuesday as the mayor said fire and EMS will be integrated by the end of next year.Mayor Frank Jackson appointed the EMS chief to lead the integration, according to WOIO.com.Jackson held a press conference Tuesday morning to discuss the personnel changes in the department.The mayor said he expects a full integration of EMS and fire, the station reported, adding that he has been committed to pushing the measure to reality.

No replacement has been named for Stubbs, who will leave next April after 34 years.
