HOLLY HILL, Fla. --
A firefighter was recovering Monday after being splashed with chemicals on a hazmat call.
Firefighters from Holly Hill and Ormond Beach responded to the call Sunday night at a storage facility on Yonge Street. Authorities said they found a smoking drum full of chemicals used to bleach hair.
While working the call, William Kimmy, a firefighter paramedic, was splashed with some of the chemicals and inhaled them.
Authorities said Kimmy was having trouble breathing and was transported to a hospital.
Officials said he was treated and released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
