Woman, Child Rescued From Nebraska Fire

OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha firefighters rescued a woman and a child found outside a burning apartment early Friday morning. Crews found flames coming from a second-floor window near Park and Dewey avenues around 1:15 a.m. The woman and child were found in a back stairwell. Residents of the building were evacuated while firefighters did their job. The person who lives in the apartment where the fire started was not home at the time. No one was injured in the blaze.

Investigators continue to look for a cause for the fire.
