SAN ANTONIO --
Two firefighters are in noncritical condition after responding to a house fire on the 500 block of Summit.
The fire broke out just before 4 p.m on Wednesday in the front bedroom of the house. Nobody was inside at the time.
Fire officials said one firefighter suffered heat exhaustion while trying to put out the fire and another firefighter was injured while on the way to the scene.
Fire officials told KSAT that he hurt his back and neck.
Both firefighters were transported to Santa Rosa Hospital and were last reported in noncritical condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Arson investigators were called to the scene late Wednesday afternoon.
