Lightning Hits Fla. Home, Kills Squirrel

OCALA, Fla. -- Lighting struck an Ocala home Tuesday morning, damaging a garage door and killing a squirrel, according to Ocala.com. Paul Antonacci said he was watching TV in the living room when he heard what sounded like a gunshot and then he saw a big flash, the newspaper reported. The dead squirrel was found by the base of an oak tree. Antonacci said firefighters told him it appeared lighting struck the tree, killed the squirrel, traveled underground and then struck the house.

The dead squirrel was found by the base of an oak tree.
