Boston Firefighters Battle Five-Alarm Blaze

Boston firefighters battled a five-alarm blaze in Mission Hill early Sunday morning that quickly spread to two multifamily homes, according to The Boston Globe.Close to 130 firefighters responded to a burning duplex at 37-39 Calumet Street at approximately 12:45 a.m.There were reports of people trapped and several rescues were made, department spokesman Steve MacDonald told the newspaper.The fire spread to a 41 Calumet Street and crews also worked to protect 35 Calumet.

Close to 130 firefighters responded to a burning duplex at 37-39 Calumet Street at approximately 12:45 a.m.

There were reports of people trapped and several rescues were made, department spokesman Steve MacDonald told the newspaper.

The fire spread to a 41 Calumet Street and crews also worked to protect 35 Calumet.

One civilian was injured in the blaze and no firefighters were hurt

Officials said high winds helped the fire grow and that it was still burning strongly at 2:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
