Boston Firefighters Injured Battling Four-Alarmer

Four Boston firefighters were injured while battling a four-alarm fire at a three-story home Monday afternoon.
Four Boston firefighters were injured while battling a four-alarm fire at a three-story home Monday afternoon, according to WXFT-TV.

Crews responded to the fire on Boyd Street in the Dorchester neighborhood shortly after 3:30 p.m. to find the structure engulfed in flames.

Officials said the fire originated in the rear of the structure and extended up through the middle of the three floors and through the roof.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the one home.

The four firefighters sustained minor burns and shoulder injuries.

The estimated fire loss is reported at approximately $500,000 and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
