Bodies Moved as Pa. Funeral Home Burns

JEANNETTE, Pa. -- Chopper 11 flew over the scene after a funeral home erupted in flames on Friday in Jeannette. The blaze broke out shortly after 2 p.m. at the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home along North First Street. Chopper 11 video recorded flames shooting from the windows of the building. At least 16 fire companies were called to the scene to fight the fire. Channel 11 News has learned that at least two funeral services were being set up when the fire began.

Chopper 11 flew over the scene after a funeral home erupted in flames on Friday in Jeannette.

The blaze broke out shortly after 2 p.m. at the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home along North First Street.

Chopper 11 video recorded flames shooting from the windows of the building.

At least 16 fire companies were called to the scene to fight the fire. Channel 11 News has learned that at least two funeral services were being set up when the fire began.

Officials said the bodies were removed from the building and taken to another funeral home.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is unknown.
