Canada Firefighter Suspended for Engine Misuse

A Halifax-area firefighter has been reprimanded after he drove a new fire engine more than 20 miles to deliver flowers to his girlfriend, according to CBC News

The Lakeside firefighter was suspended for a week after taking the trip to Queensland.

While Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service officials wouldn't comment, Deputy Fire Chief Roy Hollett said the firefighter's actions were inexcusable.

"It's intended for a specific use, and when it's used beyond that we do follow up and hand out appropriate discipline as required," he told the news outlet.
