Two Indianapolis firefighters were injured early Tuesday as they fought a blaze that damaged three vacant homes on the city's east side.
Crews were called just before 4:30 a.m. to the 200 block of Eastern Avenue, where they found a vacant two-story home engulfed in flames.
The fire then spread to two vacant homes on either side, causing significant damage.
The two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to Methodist Hospital.
Crews were still battling hot spots two hours after the fire began.
