Seven Injured In Indianapolis Apartment Fire

Several people were injured late Monday evening in a fire at an apartment building on Indianapolis' west side.

The fire broke out after 10 p.m. at the Port-O-Call apartments near the intersection of Vermont Street and Lynhurst Drive.

Wayne Township fire officials said seven people suffered minor injuries. One of those victims was taken to a hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Everyone was able to get out of the apartments by the time firefighters arrived.

Three apartment units were damaged.

Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused the blaze.
