    Pa. Firefighter Accused of Stealing From Dept.

    FORD CITY, Pa. -- An Armstrong County firefighter is facing charges he stole thousands of dollars from his own department. Chris Zionkowski was arrested on Wednesday, Police said Zionkowski embezzled more than $8,000 from the Ford City Fire Department over the past eight months. Investigators said Zionkowski made out electronic checks and preauthorized debits to himself.

    An Armstrong County firefighter is facing charges he stole thousands of dollars from his own department.

    Chris Zionkowski was arrested on Wednesday,

    Police said Zionkowski embezzled more than $8,000 from the Ford City Fire Department over the past eight months.

    Investigators said Zionkowski made out electronic checks and preauthorized debits to himself.

    Fire department officials said they were tipped off to the missing money when a fire truck payment was returned due to insufficient funds.
