Three employees with Western Waterproofing Co. escaped injury when their scaffold broke in half Tuesday morning.
The men were working on some windows outside the fourth floor of Kapiolani Medical Center when the scaffold collapsed at about 10:30 a.m.
The three workers were attached to safety harnesses. They said they hung on until firefighters arrived to bring them down.
Police closed off Bingham Street fronting the entrance to Kapiolani Medical Center to make way for emergency vehicles.
Western Waterproofing is investigating the incident, the men said.
