ROCKVILLE, Md. -- A man stuck under a train at the Rockville Metro Station has been pulled out.

The call came in at around 12:20 p.m. for a pedestrian struck by the train, officials said.

It took rescuers about 35 minutes to extricate the victim, officials said. The victim's leg was pinned under the train.

Several firefighters were involved in the rescue effort. Metro officials say this was a suicide attempt.

The victim is still alive and being taken to Suburban Hospital's trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

The incident is being investigated by Metro Transit Police.

Trains at Rockville's Metro Station are sharing the same track, so expect Red Line delays.
