Indiana Command Vehicle Hits Pedestrian

A pedestrian is in serious condition after he was struck by a Fort Wayne command vehicle Thursday morning.
A pedestrian is in serious condition after he was struck by a Fort Wayne command vehicle Thursday morning, according to WANE-TV.

The incident occurred on the 4900 block of Coldwater Road at approximately 10 a.m. as the 2005 Chevy Tahoe was attempting to make its way around stopped traffic with its lights and sirens activated.

The SUV collided with a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix that was turning and the impact sent the command vehicle onto the sidewalk and into the pedestrian.

The 59-year-old man was transported to a local hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

No other injuries were reported.
