Two Killed in Texas Barge Fire

FREEPORT, Texas -- Fire crews in Freeport said they were battling a blaze on a barge Saturday. Emergency crews said the barge, owned by Texas Barge and Boat Inc., is located near the 4100 block of Floodgate Road. According to the Freeport Police Department, two people were killed in the fire. Investigators said it was unknown how many people were on the barge when the fire ignited. The victims were identified as Jose Jesus Gonzolez-Alavera, 31, and Daniel Santacruz, 41, police said.

According to the Freeport Police Department, two people were killed in the fire.

Investigators said it was unknown how many people were on the barge when the fire ignited.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
