Md. Firefighter Suffers Medical Emergency at Fire

BALTIMORE -- Fire crews had to battle heavy smoke and flames before quickly bringing an early-afternoon fire under control in Baltimore City, according to officials. Crews were called to the 1900 block of East Oliver Street at about 12:45 p.m. Everyone inside the home was able to escape injury. However, one firefighter experienced high blood pressure and was taken to the city fire department infirmary at Mercy Medical Center for treatment. There was no word on his condition.

Officials were investigating the cause of the fire.
