ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --

The Royal Crown Apartment Community burned in southeast Albuquerque on Friday afternoon.

Officials told Action 7 News that four firefighters fell through the second-floor roof to the first floor. Two of those firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Neighbors said the fire started in the laundry room and spread quickly. The cause of the fire hasn't been released by firefighters.

Twenty-seven fire units responded to the blaze near Jackson and Gibson in southeast Albuquerque.

None of the residents were injured and everyone got out safely, preliminary reports indicate.

"Fires can burn quickly. So, it's important that you know people have smoke alarms to alarm them of the fire and to get out quickly. In this case, we've been lucky," Albuquerque Fire Department spokeswoman Melissa Romero said.
