Fire crews said water leftover from fighting a house fire could present a problem due to the freezing cold.
Firefighters were called to an abandoned house in the 1400 block of Neff Avenue on Monday night.
Investigators said the fire started in the basement and shot up through the walls of the home. It caused about $10,000 in damage. No one was injured in the fire.
Fire crews said a police officer who responded to the scene to control traffic ran over a water hose, causing water to spray everywhere.
Firefighter said they are worried the water will freeze and cause a safety hazard.
