Ohio Firefighter Hurt in Ceiling Collapse

DAYTON, Ohio -- A Dayton firefighter was injured fighting a blaze at 247 South Conover Street Sunday afternoon. The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital after part of a ceiling collapsed, Dayton fire Chief Herbert C. Redden II said. Redden did not reveal the firefighter's injuries or condition. After the firefighter was injured, crews evacuated the building and fought the flames from the exterior of the house.

The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital after part of a ceiling collapsed, Dayton fire Chief Herbert C. Redden II said. Redden did not reveal the firefighter's injuries or condition.

After the firefighter was injured, crews evacuated the building and fought the flames from the exterior of the house.

Firefighters suspect the fire was started by an arsonist, or accidentally by a homeless person, Bratton said.

No other injuries were reported at the vacant house.
