Thieves Swipe Fire Gear in California

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. -- Thousands of dollars worth of firefighting equipment disappeared from a North Highlands shed recently, the Sacramento Fire Department said. Fire Capt. Jon Burgess said thieves broke into a storage facility in the 2400 block of Dean Street. Burgess said more than $20,000 worth of items were stolen sometime during the past couple days. Generators, chain saws, axes, air compressors and other equipment were taken from the shed, Burgess said.

Thousands of dollars worth of firefighting equipment disappeared from a North Highlands shed recently, the Sacramento Fire Department said.

Fire Capt. Jon Burgess said thieves broke into a storage facility in the 2400 block of Dean Street.

Burgess said more than $20,000 worth of items were stolen sometime during the past couple days.

Generators, chain saws, axes, air compressors and other equipment were taken from the shed, Burgess said.
