An Oswego firefighter died of an apparent heart attack shortly after midnight while visiting family on Father's Day after working a shift earlier that day, according to YNN-TV.
Firefighter Scott Davis -- who worked with the ambulance unit as a critical care technician -- was a 14-year veteran of the department.
The USFA has confirmed that his death will be considered as occurring on duty because it happened within 24 hours of his previous shift.
"He loved the fire department and loved his family. The loss is strongly felt here and we're going to miss him," Assistant Chief Jeffrey McCrobie told the news station.
Davis is survived by his wife and their three children.
