A pit bull was rescued from a southwest Houston storm sewer on Tuesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Houston firefighters were called to Boone Road near Beechnut Street at about 10:20 a.m. for a report of a man stuck in a sewer. However, when they arrived, they discovered it was actually a dog.
Traffic in the area was diverted as crews worked to free the pit bull.
Animal control crews rescued the dog about 90 minutes later. It was soaking wet, but otherwise OK, officials said.
Officials have not said how the dog ended up in the sewer.
