GASTONIA, N.C. --
A neighbor said she saw children being thrown out of the windows of a burning house in Gastonia, where at least one person died and five others were hurt Thursday evening.
Two victims were flown to a burn center.
Three children, their parents and two grandparents lived in the house, according to police.
"The fire ... was just everywhere," said Vivian Tate, a neighbor. "It was coming out the front door, out the windows. Glass was popping."
Firefighters arrived at the home on Millon Street just before 9 p.m. Thursday.
There was no word Thursday evening about what may have caused the fire.
