Phoenix Police Rescue Child From Burning Home

PHOENIX -- Police officers rescued a child from a burning home at 47th Avenue and Osborn Road. Four officers -- Jamie Corrales, Matt Deal, James Clark and Michelle Masino -- were a couple of blocks away from the house when the report was called out over the radio. They were the first to arrive and saw flames coming from the roof of the home. A woman was standing in her yard saying her 3-year-old daughter ran back inside, police said. The four officers went into the burning home to find the child.

Police officers rescued a child from a burning home at 47th Avenue and Osborn Road.

Four officers -- Jamie Corrales, Matt Deal, James Clark and Michelle Masino -- were a couple of blocks away from the house when the report was called out over the radio. They were the first to arrive and saw flames coming from the roof of the home.

A woman was standing in her yard saying her 3-year-old daughter ran back inside, police said. The four officers went into the burning home to find the child.

While inside, Corrales slipped and fell on the tile, police said. After he fell, he saw the child behind the couch.

Corrales sprained his ankle but he and the child are fine, police said.
