Fire Hits Md. Congressman's Property


A fire destroyed an apartment building on the property of U.S. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett on Thursday.

The blaze broke out shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Buckeystown Pike in Frederick County.

The building was a barn and a silo that the congressman converted into apartments.

Bartlett was in Washington, D.C., at the time of the fire.

There were no reports of any injures, and the cause remains under investigation.
