Pa. FFs Rescue Dog from Septic Tank

NOTTINGHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Firefighters had to rescue a dog from a septic tank in Washington County on Monday. The incident happened in Nottingham Township. Casey, a bichon frisse, was riding on its owner lap on a four-wheeler when it jumped off and landed in the tank. "We had to call the fire department after trying numerous times to get her out ourselves, owner Cindy Hillenbrand told Channel 11 News reporter Dave Bondy. They came and rescued her."

Firefighters had to rescue a dog from a septic tank in Washington County on Monday.

The incident happened in Nottingham Township. Casey, a bichon frisse, was riding on its owner lap on a four-wheeler when it jumped off and landed in the tank.

"We had to call the fire department after trying numerous times to get her out ourselves, owner Cindy Hillenbrand told Channel 11 News reporter Dave Bondy. They came and rescued her."

Hillenbrand said as the volunteer firefighter had his body in the well and she and her friends held his feet to make sure that he didn't fall in.

It took firefighters about 10 minutes to pull the dog out, she said.
