4 Hurt in Indy Dump Truck-Car Crash

INDIANAPOLIS --

Four people were hurt, two critically wounded, in a crash involving a dump truck and a car on Saturday afternoon on Indianapolis' south side.

The wreck happened at about 4:10 p.m. in front of the Flying J Truck Stop in the 1700 block of West Thompson Road.

Indianapolis fire Capt. Rita Reith said a dump truck that was westbound on Thompson T-boned a Buick Regal.

"Four passengers in the Buick were all trapped and had to be extracted by firefighters," Reith said.

The victims were taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, two in critical condition and two in stable condition.

The driver of the dump truck was taken to Community South Hospital with minor injuries, Reith said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
